一、Brief 簡介

Generally speaking, except for those who have the right of abode or the right to enter the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, any person who wishes to come to Hong Kong to work, study, start or participate in any business, reside in Hong Kong or stay in Hong Kong as a visitor for more than the period of stay for which he or she is exempted from a visa , are required to apply for a visa/entry permit. 一般而言，除擁有香港特別行政區居留權或入境權的人士外，任何人士如欲來港就業、就讀、開辦或參與任何業務、居留或以訪客身份在港逗留超過可獲豁免簽證的逗留期限，均須申領簽證／進入許可。

三、Petition form 申請資格

For work visa applications, they will be considered for approval if they meet the following criteria: 就工作簽證申請，如符合下列準則，可獲考慮批准 :
1. The applicant does not have any known serious criminal record and has not had his application rejected due to security reasons;申請人沒有任何已知的嚴重犯罪記錄，及沒有曾因保安理由而被拒絕申請;
2 Applicants need to have a good educational background, which usually means holding a bachelor's degree in the relevant field. However, in special circumstances, good technical qualifications, proven professional abilities, and relevant experience and achievements with documented evidence may also be accepted. ;申請人需具有良好教育背景，通常指持有有關範疇的學士學位，但在特殊情況下，具備良好技術資格、經證明的專業能力及備有文件證明的有關經驗和成就，亦可予接受;
3. The hiring company does have job vacancies (only applicable to professionals);聘用公司確實有職位空缺(只適用於專業人士);
4. The applicant’s professional skills or academic qualifications match the academic qualifications and skills required by the hiring company to fill the vacancy (only applicable to professionals);申請人之巢專業技能或學歷輿聘用公司需填補空缺所需學歷及技能相匹配(只適用於專業 人士);
5. The salary remuneration received by the applicant from the employing company, including wages, accommodation, medical subsidies and benefits, is consistent with the local labor market in Hong Kong.申請人從聘用公司所得到之薪資報酬，包含工資、住宿、醫療補貼及福利，輿香港本地勞工市場相符，
6. The applicant can make a significant contribution to the Hong Kong economy (only applicable to entrepreneurs investing in Hong Kong)·申請人能夠對本港經濟作出重大貢獻(只適用 於企業家來港投資)·

四、Documents required 申請香港工作簽證所需的文件
When applying for a work visa, you will need to attach a statement from your employer in Hong Kong providing details of the vacant position.申請工作簽證時，您需要附上您在香港的雇主的聲明，提供空缺職位的詳細信息。

Applicant’s documents 申請人的文件：

A completed application form. For example, if you are applying under the GEP program, you will need to submit Form ID 990A.一份完整的申請表。例如，如果您在 GEP 計劃下申請，您需要提交表格 ID 990A。
A recent passport-sized photograph affixed to the application form.貼在申請表上的近期護照大小的照片。

Here are the documents your hiring company needs to submit以下是您的僱傭公司需要提交的文件：

A completed application form ID 990B for employment of professionals in Hong Kong.一份完整的在香港僱用專業人員的申請表 ID 990B。
A copy of the appointment letter or employment contract with the applicant. The letter or contract should contain details about the job, salary, length of employment, and any other employee benefits provided.與申請人的聘書或僱傭合同的副本。 信函或合同應包含有關工作、薪水、受僱時間以及提供的任何其他員工福利的詳細信息。
Copy of business registration certificate.商業登記證複印件

Under normal circumstances, it takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks for the Immigration Department to process a work visa application.
